James Bond Producer Wants Daniel Craig for Five More Films

Hopefully Daniel Craig likes those shaken martinis. In an interview with the newspaper The People, James Bond producer Michael G. Wilson said that he wanted to see Craig appear in another five Bond films following 'Skyfall.' "Filming has gone very well and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's [Moore] record and do eight pictures," Wilson told the paper. Per THR, that means Craig is somehow "in talks" for five more Bond films, though that seems specious to assume at best. After all, Craig has a very full plate -- in addition to Bond, he could have two more 'Dragon Tattoo' films coming in the future -- and there is no indication anywhere that he's in active negotiations to return to Bond following the conclusion of 'Skyfall.' Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, etc. Directed by Sam Mendes, 'Skyfall' stars Craig, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw. It arrives in theaters on Nov. 9, 2012. Glam Slam: The Friday Five: Holiday Gift Ideas For Kids

First Published: December 16, 2011 1:39 PM EST Credit: Getty Images LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption A little girl, wearing a winter coat, gives Santa Claus her wish list. Surrounding him are packages and toys.My family keeps asking me for gift ideas for my 2-year-old and I am stumped! If youve got a kid you need to buy for and need some gifting inspiration, Jenny Cooper, Head of Crewcuts Design, shares her suggestions. 1. Because I want to give the gift that will stand out the most and be the sparkliestthe girls starlet dress. That would definitely make me the favorite godmother, if Im not already!!! 2. A stack of books from our Crewcuts Book Club, where a new associate from J. Crew picks their favorite book that they love to read to their children and we sell it online. One book is never enough and reading is the most useful and enduring skill a little person can acquire. For a boyThe Boy Who Bit Picasso, The Complete Book of United States History (because my boys are always asking me questions I WISH I knew the answers to!) and a green marbled composition notebook for them to write their own book in. For a girlThe Book About Moomin, Mymble and Little My (which I grew up with), The Angry Fairy (which tells a funny story about a fairy with blank pages and no illustrations so she can create her own masterpiece!) and she would get the neon pink composition notebook to also write her own story! 3. I would have to get the Playforever Bruno Racing CarI dont care how old your kids are, this one is timeless! The sleek shape and the rubber wheels with the little helmeted head will look so chic on the mantelpiece after once the little one has outgrown it. He will never end up in a tag sale! 4. The cashmere cable crewneck for kids, to keep them warm on snowy days. I think the cashmere cable goes with anythingthe amazing, dyed-in-Italy colors make any outfit! Wear it with a tuxedo pant to holiday events and switch out to jeans when you get home. 5. The girls letter pins are going in with EVERY gift, even boys, because who doesnt love their own initials? Boys can pin their letters on their backpack. Or use them as a tie pin. Thats whats so great about the pinsthey can go on almost anything and they are just $7.50 so I can get them for everyone and some special people can get both or even three! 'Ellen' Producer Sues Declaring Rabid Fans Specific In Facebook Scam (Exclusive)

Getty Images Recently,Paul "The ProblemInch Sorrentino from Jersey Shoreline prosecuted Abercrombie & Fitch over what he saw would be a less-than-amusing publicity stunt. The store had offered him a "substantial payment" to prevent putting on its clothes, and introduced a type of clothing that apparently aped Sorrentino's famous catch phrases. In reaction, MPS Entertainment, the organization possessed by Sorrentino and the brother, filed a $4 million suit alleging trademark violations, deceitful advertising and misappropriation of his publicity privileges.our editor recommendsTHR's 5 Worst Celebrity Books of 2011: Jersey Shoreline, More Jersey Shoreline and also the Levi Johnston-Bristol Palin Feud'Jersey Shore' Season 5 Trailer: Keeping Guards Employed Since 2009 (Video)'Jersey Shore's' The Problem Sues Abercrombie & Fitch for $4 MillionAbercrombie & Fitch Offers 'The Situation' Compensation not to Put on Its Clothes PHOTOS: 'Jersey Shoreline's' Quotable Situation On Monday, Abercrombie & Fitch responded in the court having a very detailed motion to dismiss. The clothing company informs a rather different story of the items happened. Furthermore, the defendant attacks Sorrentino for weak trademark claims and states the Jersey Shorecastmember is disturbing its First Amendment to make light of the troubling situation. Here's A&F's side from the story, which starts with an episode of Jersey Shorethat broadcast on August 11. Through the episode, A&F states that Sorrentino used eco-friendly Abercrombie sweat pants bearing its logo design. PHOTOS: The Very Best and Worst Moments of 'Jersey Shore' The store states it had been concerned that "the prominent display of their A&F logo design could be seen being an endorsement with a&F from the raucous behavior on the program.Inch Reality Television shows frequently blur out brands. Not this time around, allegedly. So A&F sent instructions to MTV having a request that it is marks be pixilated from future episodes.Together with the demand allegedly came a deal that MTV, Sorrentino along with other castmembers could be compensated money because of not putting on its items. Sorrentino's camping states it never got this kind of offer, but here's phone letter to MTVco-general counselGeorge Cheekbones, revealing the "substantial" offer to prevent putting on A&F clothing was for $10,000: In the suit, Sorrentino states that the&F's efforts to make contact with MTV were a part of a "marketing ploy." Even when MTV was approached, the star states that this kind of offer never was communicated to him. A&F responds it doesn't matter. "If the offer letter went straight to Sorrentino is immaterial, and doesn't establish the falsity from the offer that Litigants allege is made,Inch the organization creates in the motion to dismiss. Sounds good. Here's the issue: Was mtss is a sincere and timely offer? The letter above is dated August 15, yet A&F had already had released a pr release 72 hours earlier observing it had offered compensation to Sorrentino to cease putting on A&F items. Furthermore, although one presidential candidateis getting condemned to be out-of-touch for delicately offering up a $10,000 wager inside a recent debate, we'll wager that "as much as $10,000" wouldn't impress many Hollywood dealmakers to be very "substantial." PHOTOS: Crazy Cases! 18 of Hollywood's Crazy Entertainment Legal cases A&F does somewhat better in attacking Sorrentino's claims that particular A&F clothing infringed his trademarks. A&F states it had placed a purchase in The month of january 2010 for 2 t-t shirts featuring phrases that parodied Jersey Shoreline. The organization states that Sorrentino was conscious of the parody t-t shirts for several months and not objected. The store continues to dispute Sorrentino's trademark dominion over "The ProblemInch and "GTL," saying evidence shows basically the reality star has put on register individuals marks. The programs haven't yet been granted through the U.S. Trademark Office. Furthermore, the utilization and "good will" from the mark is asked. It's noted that MPS allegedly acquired privileges to some stylized upside-lower "Situation" mark and design from the store named Yak Footwear, but A&F questions the validity of the assignment since there's been no transfer of economic nor evidence the mark and design has been utilized. Besides, A&F highlights the asserted trademark registration along with a&F's clothing aren't much the same and it is items are unlikely to confuse customers. The clothing store provides good quality reasoning to doubt whether Sorrentino will ultimately flourish in signing up GTL. It's stated that Viacom (parent company of MTV) really holds a trademark registration for "GYM TANNING LAUNDRY" and it has been offering on its website t-t shirts available bearing "GTL." "According to both MTV's along with other Jersey Shoreline castmates' utilization of 'GTL', Litigants cannot establish that they're the only supply of goods on offer underneath the alleged mark 'GTL', as well as their unfair uncompetition and false designation of origin claim under 1125(a) must fail," states the brief. Possibly most significant may be the wonder if A&F's utilization of Sorrentino and the catch-phrases is constitutionally-protected freedom of expression. A&F states that it is t shirts and utilisation of the star's likeness was parody -- clearly a tale, not meant to convey sponsorship: "A&F's t-shirt bearing the saying 'The Fitchuation' would be a pun or turn of phrase, parodying Sorrentino's nickname for themself as 'The Situation'. As Litigants plead, Sorrentino has made an appearance on several across the country public programs and therefore is really a public figure, susceptible to being parodied due to his presence within the public eye. Furthermore, the t-shirt bearing the saying 'G.T.L. (You Realize The Offer) Fitch', was poking fun in the Jersey Shoreline castmates self announced practice of doing the 'GTL', i.e. 'gym, tanning laundry.' We've no clue why is the typical guido in Jersey laugh, and that we know the word that the easiest method to kill a tale would be to explain it, but was this really humorous? If the judge chuckles and chucks....stay updated. E-mail: eriqgardner@yahoo.com Twitter: @eriqgardner PHOTO GALLERY: View Gallery 'Jersey Shore': The Quotable Situation

Patty Jenkins Out as 'Thor 2' Director

"I, together with a lot of others, are very searching toward the appointment of Patty Jenkins," original 'Thor' director Kenneth Branagh told Moviefone in November. "In my opinion that's an ideal choice to direct the film. So that it was the very best decision personally too for them and i am really searching toward observe the second one evolves." Relating to this: Jenkins leaves 'Thor 2' because of the dreaded "creative versions." Deadline reviews that Marvel is scrambling now to search for a alternative for Jenkins ("canvasses" might be the word Mike Fleming uses), that your completely new 'Thor 2' helmer needs to be hired relatively soon. This can be a given, since 'Thor 2' is going in theaters on November. 15, 2013. The stock dropped sharply in early Friday trading. As of 10:05am ET, it was down 8.8 percent to $16.95. Late last month, the stock had hit a 52-week low of $15.98. "The company now believes that an increase in promotional activity is required to drive sell-through to end customers," RIM said about the PlayBook tablets, which have been met with weak reviews and buzz. "This is due to several factors, including recent shifts in the competitive dynamics of the tablet market and a delay in the release of the PlayBook OS 2.0 software." The Blackberry maker said it wants to "expand upon the aggressive level of promotional activity recently employed by the company in order to drive PlayBook adoption around the world." Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis said in a statement: "RIM is committed to the BlackBerry PlayBook and believes the tablet market is still in its infancy. Although a number of factors have led to the need for an inventory provision in the third quarter, we believe the PlayBook, which will be further enhanced with the upcoming PlayBook OS 2.0 software, is a compelling tablet for consumers that also offers unique security and manageability features for the enterprise." Sting

Promoted by Live Nation and produced by RZO Entertainment, Corporation. Band: Dominic Burns, Vinnie Colaiuta, Rufus Burns, Jo Lawry, Peter Tickell. Examined November. 28, 2011 Undertaking a powerful but half-hearted Police reunion tour and forays into symphonic and Renaissance music, Sting visited the basic principles on his properly named To Bass tour. Playing the initial of three offered-out shows within the Wiltern Theatre, Sting skillfully wielded his electric bass guitar with the evening, the instrument he acquired just like a schoolboy in northern England that eventually skyrocketed him to fame while using Police. It seems a suitable time for your star revisit his roots, getting just celebrated his 60th birthday and released a retrospective box set marking his 25th anniversary just like a solo artist. Searching lithe and lean just like a guy half his age, Sting made an appearance completely comfortable leading his able five-piece band through re-imagined versions of numerous familiar tunes. Beginning off while using crowd-pleaser "All This Time Around Around" and segueing to the Police favorite "Every Little Factor She Does is Miracle," it looked as though it might be a finest hits evening, but Sting soon delved much much deeper into his catalog, yanking out "Demolition Guy" and "I Hung My ThoughtsInch additionally to many tunes that never handled to obtain onto commercial radio. Standing center stage with dramatic white-colored lights lighting him formerly pointed out and below, Sting frequently lapsed into storytelling mode, attempting to show everyone else his inspiration for a lot of tunes, just like a fox that stole chickens from his farm ("Finish of the sportInch) together with a psychic vehicle crook who could intuit the nuances of his victims' lives ("Stolen Vehicle"). It cannot be described as a Sting show without addressing the difficulties and exaltations of love, so during the time of "Fortress Around Your Heart" as well as the country-tinged "Love Is Much More effective Than Justice," the singer distributed relationship advice online online culled from decades of marriage, encouraging everybody else to risk everything for love. Despite his tales, Sting still maintained a regal distance from his fans throughout a lot of the evening. Despite the fact that vital elements with an incredible show were in place a captivating singer together with hits whose voice hasn't reduced as we age, a superb backing band, together with an area filled with adoring fans the performance did not possess a particular magical quality. Possibly it absolutely was too easy an outing for just about any guy who is able to command arenas and very easily transition from rock to jazz to country and again. Sting usually takes a web page using their own book, infusing his entire performance while using closeness he brought to his third encore, which saw him standing alone along with his protection lower playing only an guitar as his voice rung by helping cover their the beloved, heartbreaking lyrics to "Message In The Bottle." Five Reasons You Need To See 'The Muppets'

It's time to play the music! It's time to light the lights! It's time to meet the Muppets at uh "The Muppets," hitting theaters today! Watch the "Muppets" trailer! Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of their delightfully bizarre pals are back in action at long last with this week's release of "The Muppets," directed by James Bobin and starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and an unstoppable array of celebrity cameos. Sporting a 100% certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Muppets" absolutely deserves all of the credit it's been getting in the past few days and weeks. If you have any fondness at all in your hearts for these wonderful characters, there's no excuse for you to skip out on this one for longtime fans and new ones alike, "The Muppets" is as close to a perfect family film as it gets. Check out five reasons to see the movie after the jump. Forgetting "Sarah Marshall" Segel and co-writer Nicholas Stoller's love and affection for all things "Muppets" is very clearly on display in this movie. The charming, witty writing they're best known for is all over "The Muppets," but gone is the raunchy attitude, the crude dialogue and, most importantly, Segel's practically obligatory nude scenes. In fact, I was surprised at just how much Segel stayed out of the Muppets' way, not just as a writer, but also as an actor. Stoller and Segel go out of their way to highlight who the real stars of "The Muppets" are supposed to be. Speaking of the stars... Meet Walter The newest addition to "The Muppets" gang is Walter, the world's biggest Muppets fan and the viewpoint character of the film. Walter's journey is to decide whether or not he's man or Muppet more on that in a second and every minute we spend with him on his adventure is well worth the price of admission. Netflix Shares Face A Tough Market Amid Questions About $400M Refinancing

In early trading Netflix shares are down about 3.3% from yesterday’s $74.47 close– and flirting with the possibility of ending the day ata new 52-week low.Investors are still trying to make sense of last night’sannouncement that it struck two deals to raise $400M with a warningthat it expects a net loss in 2012, a change from its previous guidance of “several quarters” of losses. The company agreed to sell $200M in common stock, at $70 a share, to accounts managed by T. Rowe Price Associates in addition to its$200M convertible notes offer to Technology Crossover Ventures. With the deals “we have strengthened our balance sheet and remain focused on growing our streaming subscriptions and returning to global profitability after our launch of the U.K. in 2012,” CFO David Wells said. But several analysts say that they’re pessimistic: Caris & Co’s David Miller lowered his price target to $59 from $77 since Netflix “is sending the rhetorical signal to the Street that the effects of its Q3 public relations nightmare have not stemmed subscriber defections, at least not in the near term.” Lazard Capital Markets’ Barton Crockett says his earnings forecast is under review adding that the company’s “recent history of quick outlook changes suggests reason to be skeptical.” Janney Capital Markets’ Tony Wible questions Netflix’s decision to raise capital just after it spent hundreds of millions of dollars to repurchase its shares. That “reinforces our view that (Netflix) has been buying stock to offset the dilution from its large issuance of equity to its management team, which has aggressively sold the stock with many options priced as low at $1.50 per share.” Susquehanna Financial Group’s Vasily Karasyov says that analysts’ earnings forecasts “will have to come down.”But Credit Suisse’s John Blackledge was a lonely bull, saying that the refinancing “strengthens (Netflix’s) balance sheet and improves its financial flexibility”although itprobably won’t be usedto finance additional content deals.

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester: I Want the Blair and Dan Relationship to Play Out

Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester While Gossip Girl fans may be torn between who they want Blair to be with, Leighton Meester is not. "The one relationship I'd love to play out is Blair and Dan," she told TVGuide.com at the show's 100th episode party Saturday night. Penn Badgley (Dan) said: "I like the Blair [story line] because it's the most exciting for Dan as a person." See photos from Gossip Girl Although it was a surprise to see the Queen Bee and Lonely Boy, who often butted heads, start to like each other, executive producer Josh Safran said the pairing has been likely to happen since the beginning. "I wrote the first scene with them together in Season 1 ... and we knew at that moment there was something there," he said. Gossip Girl boss Josh Safran: Blair has chosen her guy, L.A. is the perfect place for Serena But Blair and Dan getting together has a few major hitches, namely Blair's impending wedding to Prince Louis - and a baby on the way. On Monday's episode (8/7c, CW) Blair continues preparing for the big day with her bridal shower. And producers said a wedding will happen (or at least partly) when the 100th episode airs Jan. 30. "She does walk down the aisle," said Margaret Colin, who plays Blair's mom. Added Blake Lively: "We shot a big dance sequence." So, while it seems there's a ceremony and a reception, Safran said it could all a dream. While an enduring story line since the first season has been the Blair-and-Chuck relationship, Meester adds that she's OK with their current status. "Her and Chuck have had ups and downs and as much as everyone loves them together, I think them having time apart has actually helped them grow," she said. Watch full episodes of Gossip Girl in our Online Video Guide But, "Chair" fans, don't be alarmed yet. Executive producer Stephanie Savage told us: "We have some amazing Chuck-and-Blair scenes coming up in the next couple of episodes.. The Chuck-and-Blair relationship is really fun and something that wasn't in the books, but came out of Leighton and Ed [Westwick]'s chemistry." Whether you want Blair to be with Chuck or Dan (does anyone want her with the Prince?), creator Josh Schwartz has a solution. "There's only one way to satisfy all those people," he said. "Threesome." Who do you want Blair to be with?

Disney Posts 30 Percent Boost in Quarterly Net Income As Theme Parks Soar

The Walt Disney Co. on Thursday said it notched a 30 percent rise in net income to $1.25 billion on revenue that rose 7 percent to $10.43 in its fiscal fourth quarter, matching expectations on the top line. On a per-share basis, Disney posted 58 cents in profit while Wall Street analysts had predicted 55 cents. In the same quarter a year ago, Disney reported a profit of 43 cents per share. Studio entertainment revenue sunk 8 percent, while all other segments posted rising revenue on the quarter. The studio, though, recorded a respectable 13 percent rise in operating income. Disney blamed strong comparisons for sinking studio revenue, as Cars 2, Tangled, Thor, Captain America and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides didn't measure up to last year's Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2 and Princess and the Frog. With a 33 percent gain, Disney's parks and resorts segment scored the biggest improvement in operating income due to the inclusion of the Disney Dream cruise ship and higher ticket prices at the parks, where customers also spent more on food and merchandise. Disney shares rose 2.5 percent during the regular session Thursday to $34.64 and advanced another 2.6 percent in after-hours trading. Disney CEO Bob Iger and other top executives will discuss the earnings in a conference call later today, where some are expecting at least one of the analysts on the call to ask for an update on the suddenly controversial Oscar telecast that airs on Disney's ABC network in February. Disney's earnings wrapped up the season for the conglomerates. Before the opening bell on Thursday, Viacom reported better-than-expected quarterly financials, sending its stock 5 percent higher on the day. On the Scene: Conan O'Brien's Return to New York City

Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien To celebrate his one-year anniversary on TBS, Conan O'Brien brought his late-night show to NY for his first broadcast from the Big Apple since he left Late Night in early 2009. And nearly 3,000 screaming fans were on hand at the Beacon Theater to give him a warm welcome. Conan O'Brien looks back on his big year "I have not heard applause like that since they announced I was leaving NY," O'Brien joked at the top of his monologue. O'Brien then turned his attention to the members of the audience, many of whom were dressed in Halloween costumes. Not surprisingly, more than a few fans were dressed as O'Brien. "I see a lot of Conan costumes," he said. "Hey, at least you can take yours off! I'm trapped in this!" O'Brien, who now tapes Conan in Los Angeles, continually repeated his love of NY City, and both of the episode's pre-taped bits celebrated the city. In the first, O'Brien spent the day working as a delivery boy at a Chinese restaurant with mixed results. His first delivery customer refused to accept food from him for fear of being on camera. Later, Conan couldn't find the address he was delivering to, so he gave the food away to people on the street. (He then replaced the takeout food that he'd given away with Thai soup, but the customers quickly forgave their famous delivery boy.) Conan O'Brien to officiate gay wedding on TV A second pre-taped bit saw O'Brien donning a disguise in order to visit some of his old friends at NBC without making it "too awkward." So, with the aid of a fake mustache and some sunglasses (Conan first remarked that he looked like a "hipster pedophile" and later the Unabomber), he blended into the audience at the Today Show in Rockefeller center. The NY City love continued with a battle to the death between the Empire State Building and a Scientology book store - aka "the best building L.A. could come up with." (The Empire State Building easily won.) Then NY City Mayor Michael Bloomberg turned up to administer a NY citizenship test. Sample question: What's Derek Jeter's greatest accomplishment? Conan's (correct) answer: Minka Kelly. Check out photos of O'Brien O'Brien's first guest of the week was Jimmy Fallon, who succeeded O'Brien as the host of Late Night. Fallon offered up a "winning" impression of Charlie Sheen, and took a few moments to plug his new Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor, which the audience sampled after the show. (Sadly, this reporter was a little late to the sample line, but it sounds delicious.) Both Fallon and musician/comedian Reggie Watts, who opened for Conan during his nationwide tour last year, performed rousing musical numbers. Watts did a fitting rendition of "The Boys Are Back in Town" while Fallon performed a "Halloween Song" that was really a celebration of America that included a huge American flag and red-white-and-blue-clad baton twirlers. During some commercial breaks, O'Brien ventured out into the audience to sign autographs, pose for pictures and even give out a few hugs. During others, he danced around the stage and pretended to box announcer/sidekick Andy Richter. At one point late in the show, O'Brien removed his jacket to cool off, only to discover some noticeable pit stains. He turned to share his embarrassment with the audience, but the Team Coco crowd simply roared with more applause. Only in NY. Conan airs weeknights at 11/10c on TBS. What did you think of O'Brien's fist show back in the Big Apple?

Keck's Exclusives: The Story Behind Law & Order: SVU's Mystery Necklace

Mariska Hargitay I've observed Benson sporting a completely new necklace on Law & Order: SVU. Any significance? - Leslie, Saratoga, N.Y. Plenty! Martin Scorsese circles 'The Snowman'

ScorseseMartin Scorsese is looking to return to the sort of films that have defined his career, but with a chilly, Nordic twist: The helmer is in early talks to direct Working Title's adaptation of Jo Nesbo's bestselling mystery novel "The Snowman." While no formal offer has been made, Scorsese has been circling the project for the last month while putting the finishing touches on Paramount's "Hugo." He recently began engaging with Working Title and is now seriously considering helming the project. Matthew Michael Carnahan is in talks to adapt the Norwegian novel, the seventh entry in Nesbo's series about detective Harry Hole. Set in Oslo, "The Snowman" concerns a missing woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. Hole discovers that the crime may be the work of a serial killer. Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce the pic, while Nesbo and Niclas Salomonsson will exec produce. Nesbo's Harry Hole series has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and offers franchise potential similar to that of Sony's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," helmed by David Fincher. Elsewhere, Ridley Scott is attached to direct Sony's American adaptation of the British "Red Riding" serial killer trilogy. Carnahan, whose past films include Peter Berg's "The Kingdom," Robert Redford's "Lions for Lambs" and Kevin Macdonald's "State of Play," is one of two scribes credited on Paramount's upcoming Brad Pitt starrer "World War Z." Paramount will release Scorsese's "Hugo" on Nov. 23. Pic, which stars Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz, is aimed at a decidedly younger audience than "The Snowman." Scorsese and Carnahan are repped by WME. Contact Jeff Sneider at jeff.sneider@variety.com

New 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Poster Isn't Nude, But Noirish

by Rachel Molino The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has adapted Swedish author Stieg Larssons crime thriller novel of the same name in a perfect cacophony of white hot director David Fincher, newly most-sought-after score master Trent Reznor and fan-approved leads Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The film, which features Mara as a tormented computer hacker, probably doesnt need a real hand in the hype department, but it certainly is appropriate that a Tumblr site helms its viral marketing campaign. MouthTapedShut.com, the as of yet unofficial viral marketing hub for the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, has posted a new poster just as striking as the first one we saw, albeit for different, less naked reasons. Distinctly infused with notes of 40s-era noir, projected on a bleak snowy landscape and topped with a sharp-edged font, the poster has as much style as the ultra stylish film deserves. Updates, in both picture and video form, already come at a rate of about one per day at the Tumblr, and are likely to speed up the closer we come to the thrillers December 21 release. Ironically, those who have remained unexposed to Larssons novels and Swedish film adaptations will have to wait until the snowy season for the mysteries of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to come forth in the thaw. Which Girl With The Dragon Tattoo poster do you prefer? Have you seen any of the Swedish film versions? Let us know what you think in the comment section or on Twitter!

U.S. Version Of Jo Nesbos TV Series Occupied Being Eyed

An American version of Norwegian bestselling crime author Jo Nesbos new TV series Occupied is being talked about, Swedish producer Marianne Gray tells me. American actors and a U.S. director are also being considered for the eight-episode Norwegian TV series, which is awaiting a green light from state broadcaster NRK. Nesbo, whose novel Headhunters is being adapted by Summit Entertainment as a $30-40 million movie, has co-written three scripts for the show with local writer Havald Rosen Loew Eeg. Working Title is separately developing a feature film version of The Snowman, another bestseller by Nesbo, whose books featuring detective Harry Hole have sold nine million copies worldwide. Occupied is set in the near future, when Russia has invaded Norways oil fields and the country is under occupation. Gray, who has just come back from the States meeting with LA-based studios and producers, says: People are saying Occupied has the potential to be a U.S. series. There are parallels with the German occupation of Norway during the Second World War. The question is, how far do you collaborate when everything on the surface is pretty much the same? Yellow Bird produced the original feature-film version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which David Fincher has remade. The Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has grossed $104 million worldwide — $10 million of that in the U.S. alone, which is almost unheard of for a subtitled film. The Stockholm-based company also made TV versions of the other two books in Steig Larssons series, launching Noomi Rapace as an international star. It also created the original Swedish TV version of local detective Wallander, which again the BBC has remade starring Kenneth Branagh. Yellow Bird co-produced the UK version with Left Bank Pictures too. Its own $5 million feature-film adaptation of Headhunters, which tells the story of a thieving corporate headhunter who gets in over his head when he steals a clients valuable painting, played at the BFI London Film Festival last night. Magnolia has picked up the Norwegian version for U.S. release later this year. Summits U.S. remake of Headhunters is now out to writers, and Gray revealed that Nesbo may write a sequel to his original Headhunters novel. Gray, who gave the keynote speech at the Film London Production Finance Market this morning, said that she is also developing a TV version of a series of books by an American crime author. She wouldn’t say who. Many American crime authors have had one-off movies of their books made, but not entire series, she says. Gray, who started her career in LA at studios including Disney, Warner Bros. and Fox, says there is greater desire for American companies to work with European production companies such as Yellow Bird. Its strategy is to identify bestselling crime novel series, and then convert them into high-end television drama, often giving them a theatrical outing first. We are getting a lot of approaches from companies in the States. One American executive said to me, International is the new DVD. Everybody wants a piece of Europe, but sometimes they dont understand that Europe is not just a single territory.

Mad Fashion: TV Review

After nine seasons of Project Runway's tried and true weekly elimination formula, viewers may be excused for occasionally craving a change of pace from the fashion brand that has championed a "one day you're out" competition format. But while the wildly popular show has made bona fide television stars out of mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, few of the many contestants whose designs have graced the runway -- save for season four winner, Christian Siriano-- have seemed worthy of spin-off experimentation. One other exception to that rule, however, is Chris March, the flamboyant, amiable season four also-ran whose creations routinely ignored Kors' obsession with more conservative sportswear and separates, and Garcia's tasteful, editorial rebukes. Unlike so many of Runway's forgettable contestants who promise new beginnings upon elimination from the show, March parlayed his third-runner-up finish into Chris March Designs, a no-holds-barred embrace of his Beach Blanket Babylon-inspired aesthetic that sometimes proved too over-the-top for the adventurous Heidi Klum. On Mad Fashion, Bravo's new series constructed around March's new business venture, the fan favorite is given creative license by his female clients to produce clothing that is perhaps better suited for the drag queens of Coney Island's Mermaid Parade than for the women who regularly shop at Saks Fifth Avenue. In the premiere episode, that means creating a show-stopping ensemble for NY shoe designer Ruthie Davis to wear at a preview of her new line. Meeting with his new client at her apartment to discuss the concept for the get up, March immediately seizes on a design idea. "Would you like the idea of having some shoes on your outfit?" March asks. "Some actual shoes?" Davis fears that such a literal motif "could look cliché," but gives March the green light to see what he can come up with. "I don't want to design something that everybody else would do," March says before heading back to his studio in the old Lord & Taylor building in Manhattan's Flatiron District. "I want to design something that's bigger or better or funnier or more beautiful." In the absence of a whole lot of actual dramatic tension, executive producers Matt Westmore (Beauty and the Geek, The Biggest Loser) and Noah Scheinmann (Hired) rightly bet March's fertile imagination and snide sense of humor will keep viewers entertained. When one of March's assistants complains about developing a blister on his finger while cutting strips of tough fabric, March quips, "Do you know how many homeless gay people would be happy to cut up glitter canvass?" And in a hilarious aside squeezed in during a commercial break, March pulls out a blue Sharpie for a solemn moment. "I've been fascinated with Stevie Nicks for a long, long time," he explains with his staff assembled behind him. "I've written 'Stevie Nicks' inside everything I've made for the past 20 years. It blesses everything we make." In other words, if you're looking for fashion's quirky flipside of Project Runway's "go, go, go" cutthroat ambition, Mad Fashion is your show. March is completely at ease with himself and his aesthetic, and the worst that can happen here would be to deliver an outfit that misses the mark for his eccentric clientele. As March gleefully orders one of his team to drill and saw through thousands of dollars worth of Davis' stiletto heels, even that prospect doesn't seem all that troubling. "She might think it's too crazy," March says. "If she does, she's wrong." Bravo Project Runway

Phaedra

A Shotgun Gamers presentation of the play in 2 functions by Adam Bock. Directed by Rose Riordan. Set, Nina Ball lighting/forecasts, Lucas Krech costumes, Valera Coble props, Chelsea Pegram stage manager/seem, Hannah Birch Carl. Opened up Sept. 24, 2011, examined Sept. 29. Running time: 100 MIN.Paulie Patrick Alparone Antonio Keith Burkland Catherine Catherine Castellanos Taylor Cindy Im Olibia Trish MulhollandProbably probably the most conventional play Adam Bock has opened within the San Francisco Bay Area before or since his proceed to NY City, "Phaedra" spells its source noisy and obvious within the title. But what's on stage is really a noticeably contemporary spin that diverges substantially in the blueprints supplied by Euripedes, Racine yet others. Rose Riordan's Shotgun production provides a compelling work that may still stand fleshing out at the moment, Bock boosts more issues than he truly explores, making for a night that's tersely including but does not cash emotional resonance because of the eventual extremity of functions committed. It's certainly far in the vibrantly absurdist constructs this playwright established themself ("Five Plane tickets," "The Thugs," "The Typographer's Dream"), or perhaps the compressed semi-realism of "The Shaker Chair." Here things are as straight readable because the stylish beige decor of Nina Ball's classy two-floor suburban home interior: Initially we grasp it is a stage looking for people role-playing (and/or fighting) some stilted, inorganic perception of fortunate propriety. Climbing down the steps from sleeping rooms to livingroom just like a California-moderne Bette Davis circa 1972 is Catherine (Catherine Castellanos), who controls everything of the sterile environ even while she appears strangled because of it. The love has lengthy gone from her marriage to conservative judge Antonio (Keith Burkland), a pompous windbag offering some semblance of busy everyday existence is gabby British housekeeper Olibia (Trish Mulholland, directing Hermione Gingold). However the dead air within this domestic mausoleum is stirred by prodigal boy Paulie (Patrick Alparone), a troubled youth on probation from the alcohol and drugs detox program. He's going to start anew this time around but father is condescendingly doubtful, Catherine imperially disapproving. (Olibia aside, Paulie's sole ally is really a jaded recovery buddy performed with terrific comic disdain by Cindy Im.) Why his stepmom has been so hostile is revealed right before intermission, when she constitutes a late-evening confession certain to screw together with his mind and produce disaster upon all. Frequently cast in raucous working-class parts, Castellanos gives her central figure a glacial, analyzed elegance that's its gilded cage. Yet vivid as she and also the other gamers are, we do not quite purchase the grotesque passion Catherine hides for Paulie, or its catastrophic effects, weight loss than tragic contrivance. This "Phaedra" may portend that key thought at greater leisure, develop Paulie's new character further, and expand upon the political commentary implicit in Antonio's boorish arbiter of "justice." The show does not feel rushed (oddly, the one thing that actually works least in Riordan's assured staging really are a couple of mannered "slo-mo" movement passages), however it plays a tad thinner of computer should. Design contributions are astute, with particularly evocative input from Lucas Krech's subtle lighting and forecasts. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com

Roush Review: Homeland Is Fall's Best New Drama

Claire Danes Showtime is going to enhance the dramatic stakes every sunday, that have been already plenty high. Network TV's finest adult drama, CBS' The Great Wife, lately gone to live in the evening, ABC just released a scrumptious bit of escapism in Pan Am, the 2nd season of HBO's luxurious Prohibition period piece Boardwalk Empire has already been going ahead, as well as in two days, AMC resurrects its terrifyingly graphic zombie thriller The Walking Dead. Threatening to upstage the area is Showtime's effective one-two punch, beginning this Sunday: the return from the ever-popular Dexter (9/8c), now in the sixth bloody cycle of under-the-radar serial killing, which supplies a mighty lead-into the fall's most riveting new drama, Homeland.Want more Fall TV News? Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!Right now, we are accustomed to Dexter's darkly compelling juggling act, killing individuals who deserve it in the off hrs while showing up in the clock for that Miami police and feigning a façade of normality in the home existence, which now includes the task of single being a parent. But a much more fascinating mystery of duality are available in the mental thriller Homeland (10/9c), in the producers of 24, that provides two tortured heroes for that cost of 1.Within the situation of Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (the electrifying Damian Lewis), we are speaking actual torture. Saved after eight years in difficult Al-Qaeda captivity, Brody is beset by alarming flashbacks and evening terrors because he faces an uneasy hero's homecoming to an enormous amount of secrets and lies as well as an awkward duration of adjustment having a family that barely knows him, including V's Morena Baccarin, very affecting as his psychologically overcome wife.Brody's finest obstacle, though, might be Barbara Mathison, an unsound loose cannon of the CIA analyst, performed with fiery intensity by Claire Danes. She's reason to think the inscrutable Brody might have been switched while a prisoner, and might be a sleeper agent suggested as a factor inside a pending terrorist attack. She strongly chases her accusations, repel her bosses and jeopardizing her one remaining professional relationship, together with her naturally concerned mentor (a properly understated Mandy Patinkin). It might be rapidly apparent that Brody is hiding something, and also the more we obtain inside his mind, the greater disturbing our perception of his situation becomes. Lewis conveys Brody's stress, disorientation - and many important, his ambiguity - genuinely. And unsettling are Carrie's rogue actions, together with a creepily voyeuristic invasion of his privacy. "Me? No. I am never done!" she states (brags?) to 1 of her contacts.Who's the actual terrorist? Who's the monster? Shows like Homeland possess a method of keeping us enchantingly off balance. Can't think about a location I'd prefer or perhaps a show I'd more recommend.Sign up to TV Guide Magazine now!
